Wall-Mount Step-Down Auto-Transformers

  This high-performance wall-mounted toroidal step-down autotransformer is built for outstanding efficiency, reliability, and quiet operation. Housed in a durable, wall-mountable steel enclosure, it features a premium toroidal core that delivers up to 96% efficiency-well above the 85% typical of standard transformers. Its toroidal design ensures near-silent performance with minimal heat and no humming, making it ideal for noise-sensitive and space-limited applications like solar inverters, AC/heat pump systems, and compact installations.

    As an autotransformer, it uses a single winding for both input and output, reducing size, weight, and cost while improving efficiency and voltage regulation. It’s ideal for small voltage shifts or step-down conversions, such as motor starting, international voltage adaptation, and powering industrial equipment. However, autotransformers do not provide electrical isolation, which may be a concern in certain safety-sensitive applications.

    With low electromagnetic interference (EMI) and high power density, this transformer is well-suited for audio systems, medical devices, lab equipment, and sensitive electronics. It’s also commonly used to convert 277V to 240V in HVAC systems, lighting, and imported machinery. For easy wiring, the bottom panel includes two pre-cut 1/2" conduit knockouts.

    The enclosure is made from 16-gauge steel with a tough gray powder-coated finish, and the internal tray is 14-gauge steel for added strength. For full electrical specs and available models, please refer to the technical data sheet.
